D., Elliot und Co., sondern auf neue Medizinstudenten. Diese sind: Lucy Bennett (neue Erzählerin) Cole Aaronson Drew Suffin Maya Trang u. v. m. Am Beginn der Staffel - ein Jahr nach Ende der 8. - kehrt J. an das Sacred Heart Hospital zurück - dieses wurde unter dem neuen Namen "New Sacred Heart" inzwischen am Campus der Universität von Michigan neu aufgebaut. Viele ehemalige Ärzte des Sacred Heart arbeiten noch immer im Krankenhaus - etwa Turk, Dr. Kelso, Elliot, Denise Mahoney und Todd. Neben ihrer Arzttätigkeit arbeiten einige dieser Ärzte an der Medizin-Uni als Lehrer, im Speziellen Turk und Dr. Cox. Denise Mahoney ist als Studentenberaterin angestellt. Die Medizinstudenten verbringen ihre Zeit sowohl an der Uni, als auch im New Sacred Heart. Ebendort sind die bisherigen Hauptdarsteller ab und zu zu sehen, da viele für Gastauftritte zugesagt haben.

The destruction of The Cave was also a stakes-raising maneuver by the Young Justice writers, and its aftermath was particularly effective as Mal happened to witness the explosion from afar and then put every last bit of his non-super being into saving whoever he could.
